The thing with oils is, it's very forgiving. So I think you could afford to perhaps lay on the paint a little thicker, to get a fuller colour than you have here. It then gives you the chance to blend more colours in, give the image more visual impact. The bit around his right cheek, eye and nose is well done. If you just applied that to the rest of the picture it would look great. And how about sharpening up the outlines? I know it's probably part of the spirit of the painting, making it fairly fuzzy, but you can still achieve a definite but soft outline by making the highlighting around the outline a similar colour to the background/ambient lighting.
Anyway, this is looking good. You seem to handle quite a lot of media well ^^

hahaha. oils are very forgiving, you are quite right with that. The problem is, I don't "use paint" when I paint. I tend to waterdown acrylics (making them watercolor), water down watercolors too much (making them transparent) and i don't really put much paint on my paintbrush with oils.

It's a problem I tend to have, saturation. I don't use paint. I need to get help on that one.
