Piece for my IB exam under the focus "Conceptual Photorealism". September 2007.

In 1281, in the Battle of Koan, the Mongol army returned to finish what it had started to do to Japan 17 years before. Leading the combination of the Chinese and Mongol massive fleet, Kublai Khan attacked. The severely out numbered Japanese forces were destined to lose. Until Raijin, the God of lightning and thunder, summoned a massive typhoon that defeated the enemy and led Japan to victory.
The Japanese word for Typhoon is Kamikaze.
Kami- Divine
Kaze- Wind
Henceforth, The Divine Wind

Oil on Canvas (with an oil ground)
18" x 40"

thanks. the white part of the waves i actually used a little texture, so in real-life it looks a lot better
